Apologies

I've been so busy preparing for and attending interviews that I just haven't had time to post anything these last few weeks. Things are quieter now and I promise to post more regularly. Aside from interviews, I've been out for three birthday nights out in the past fortnight - V's at the end of January and then K's and L's the following weekend. It's been a lot of fun and the frivolous side of me has really enjoyed choosing different outfits.

For V's I teamed my pale pink and black Nicola de Main for ASOS shift dress with Emilio Cavallini black tights with white seam and heel and my red patent mary janes. These tights are gorgeous and such a cool way to wear backseams. I love them so much I also bought the red pair with the black seam and bow. Super cute.

For K's I wore my Urban Outfitters Lux pink and black polka dot cowl back prom dress with Jonathan Aston shiny purple tights, an H&M purple cardigan and my black Topshop shoe boots.

The following night, for L's night out, I wore my Johann for Urban Outfitters purple shift dress with Emilio Cavallini 55 denier pale blue tights and Topshop purple shoe boots. These tights come in a lovely range of pastel colours - perfect for spring and a great way to add colour to an outfit if you don't want to go for brights. They're also unbelievably silky and I'll definitely be getting more in other colours - ballet pink, nude and vintage lavender are on my wishlist.

No more birthdays for a while, although I have a couple of gigs coming up - V and I are going to see Sunshine Underground on 19th Feb and the following Tuesday I'm off to London with CMac see We Are Scientists. Yay!

Girly glamour

The agency called me earlier to tell me my interview at Creative Emporium has been rearranged for tomorrow, but that they have not heard back from Fast Signs yet but the initial feedback they had from them was positive. Am keeping fingers and toes crossed that one of these turns into an offer of employment.

Had a quick snoop in Topshop today and bought this gorgeous dress:



It's nearly identical to the lovely silk one by t.b.a. that has sold out on ASOS and Urban Outfitters but at £45 is a third of the price, so comfortably within budget. I'm in a very feminine mood at the moment and keep seeing lots of pretty dresses that I want but don't really need. I also seem to have developed an obsession with seamed tights - ordered two pairs in the last few days.

I've been contemplating having burlesque classes - it's something I've considered on and off throughout the last few years - and I think I'm going to summon up the courage to do the Leeds Burlesque course that starts in February. Even if I don't become a performer, it will boost my confidence and sounds like a lot of fun!
